IES have been engaged by BlueScope Steel to carry out works on the following areas of the Plate mill at Port Kembla Steelworks.
1) #3 Walking Bean Furnace (WBF).
The walking beam furnace is broken into 2 main packages of work.
A. Main Building Installation and
B. Hydraulic Stairs Installation.
Both these projects are to fabricate and install significant steel work to allow the main mechanical installation of the new WBF.
2) 4th Route Plate Processing.
The 4th Route Plate Processing Project is broken into the following main areas:
A. Preassembly and Installation of #2 Crane
B. AC Live Rail Platform supply and installation
C. #4 Crane Removal
D. #2 Plasma Cutter Installation
E. #3 Crane cabin refit
F. Slab Crane Removal
The 4th Route major project will modernise the Plate Mill and allow for the additional production that will flow through the new WBF.
The project consists of mechanical, civil and electrical packages of work on all the major components of the Plate Processing capability at BlueScope Steel.
