This project was an integral part of the Qld Government Western Corridor Recycled Water Project. (WCRWP).

  • To supplement Swanbank Power Station cooling process water utilising purified recycled water.
  • Designed from 5 global locations including USA, UK, Singapore, India and Hong Kong.
  • Delivered through the Thiess/Black & Veatch joint venture.

Key Milestones

August 07- Commenced delivery of Water to Swanbank.

  • 5500 tonnes of steel installed.
  • 28000 cubic meters of concrete poured.
  • Zero LTI and 1 million hours worked.

I.E.S Sub-contract agreement Construction Packages included:
Construction of the chemical dosing facility tank farm.

  • Install Tanks and process piping.
  • Install Pumps and instrumentation.

Installation Water Reclamation Process equipment.

  • Install skids, S/S piping and valves for the Continuous Micro-Filtration (CMF).
  • Install skids, piping and valves to make up the reverse osmosis process train.

Swanbank delivery pipeline.(Critical Path)

  • IES Fabricated, installation and flange managed approx 60 metres of 960mm diameter UG piping c/w cathode protection and exposed surface corrosion protection.

Outcome

The IES sub-contract agreement objective was to assist in maintaining the Critical Path Construction Program. By initiating a night shift roster and performing Class 1 welding works during this shift followed by continuous fabrication, non destructive testing and installation of the pipework during the days IES maintained the accelerated schedule, so much so, that this method was subsequently applied to all IES future site works, which proved a significant achievement in terms of productivity and reaching milestone markers.
