The foundation project includes two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a domestic gas plant.

Gas and condensate first arrives via the trunkline into the slugcatcher, where the two products are separated. Condensate is then stabilised, (volatile gases removed) before it is stored in LNG tanks ready for export via oil tankers to refineries in Australia and overseas.

Illawarra Engineering Services was subcontracted to provide a self sufficient team of supervisors and trades to carry out pipe fitting, welding and reinstatement on top of the LNG storage tanks. In addition to a capable work force IES brought the equipment necessary to complete the job successfully, making them an invaluable resource on the work front. Each tank was 86m in diameter and stood 50m tall with stainless steel pipework ranging from Ø25 mm to Ø1050 mm.
